Steampunk Murder Mystery Dinner!

A night Sherlock Holmes wouldn't want to miss - it's our first Murder Mystery Dinner!

Everyone will have a character and we'll enjoy the night as the mystery unravels. Was it Colonel Fizzywig in the Navigation Chamber, with an Aether Cannon? Perhaps you'll be the best detective in the room...

  • Limited attendance - everyone will have a character that is important -
if you sign up we ask you to please attend!
  • There will be hearty hors d'oeuvres (you don't need to eat beforehand) and plenty of drinks. (If you have something special you would like to drink, you're welcome to bring it.)

This event will take place at Michael and Becky Bradley's lovely house, in North Phoenix near I-17 and Pinnacle Peak Road. (Exact address will be sent to those who sign up.)

We will have hearty finger foods - plenty for a complete meal, and adult and non-adult beverages for all. We also plan to have two games available. The first is:

Murder Mystery Party - Ancient Mesopotamia Archaeology Theme

    Here is a description:

It's 7 p.m. on June 22, 1895. Arthur (Art) E. Faxe has invited you and seven other guests to dinner at the site of his latest archeological dig in Mesopotamia. But his body is discovered in the middle of the Tigris River, a bullet hole in

in his forehead. Welcome to How To Host a Murder: It's the Pits, another in the popular series of role-acting party games. Each guest receives a dossier of his or her character and, over the game's four rounds, is instructed what information to reveal. Everyone has a chance to make an accusation as to whodunit. All the classic elements for a successful criminal clambake are here: invitations, envelopes, name tags for the players (who have cute, punny names like "Hamilton (Ham) MacTorr"

or "Terra Sunder"), character bios (including whether or not they dunit), a Host's Guide, a mood-setting audio tape, and even menu suggestions. In fact, the only detail left for the host to fret about is which bubbly to serve with the bumping-off.

I may make some additional changes as well to add some twists and to make room for more characters, or bodies...

We will also have a copy of Fortune and Glory: Cliffhanger from Flying Frog Productions. It is a Steampunk/Dieselpunk game my wife and I played at DarkCon that was very fun. This will be in case the murdery mystery is solved while the night is still young.

Please make sure you have a designated driver.

We got started a bit late, but everyone seemed to have a good time. Out of 15 people only one figured out the killer, so that was cool. Got to love the three dogs, they stole the show.
