Parallel Play Canyon 3ARIII

This is a 5 to 6 mile canyon located between Phoenix and Payson. Expect 5 to 6 rappels with the highest being around 250 ft. We will be doing the 250 ft as a single rap.

Team Gear: 300 ft static C4 rope, 200 ft static rope, 300 ft pull chord, 6 quicklinks, 50ft webbing, First Aid Kit.

Note: Team gear is the gear needed for the group as a whole and is not needed from everyone. Please bring what you have and we will sort it out before we start. I will need at least one person to bring a 200 ft static rope.

Personal Gear required from everyone: harness, helmet, descender, 3 locking biners, wetsuit, headlamp/flashlight, food/water, and a great attitude.

Meetup Location:

6:30 a.m. in North part of parking lot of

This canyon was a great time! I could only imagine how cool it would be with some water flowing through it. Thanks Jim for leading an awesome canyon trip once again. It was also nice meeting Mark and Tom. A great group of people makes for a great canyon trip! Enjoy the pics...

Great fun! Don't let the 2400 ft elevation to the top of the canyon scare you off. There's a trail (kinda) and it's a long steady climb, but nothing real steep. Given the water wasn't running, the rapels were exciting but not scary. I want to go back when the water is running to increase my pulse rate a notch. From someone that loves rock-hopping, the exit was great. Plan on a good work out and 8-9 hours for the average group.

AWESOME, GORGIOUS, A TOTAL BLAST! Always great to drop a canyon with a great group of people as well. Thanks Tom and I still want a red Heaps pack. Thanks Mark, I've never seen a triple clove hitch. Thank you Jack. You did an awesome job on the big rap. I can't wait to see your pics!
