Central Arizona Mountain Rescue Association (CAMRA) Recruit Selection Meeting

Anyone who is interested in getting involved in this organization needs to attend this meeting. MCSO-MR team members are climbers, cavers, mountaineers, and general backcountry adventurers who have answered the call to serve. Many have extensive military backgrounds, and the team also includes police officers, firefighters, engineers, guides, lawyers, paramedics, and physicians. Each team member maintains the fitness, skills, personal gear, and stamina to perform a continuous 36-hour shift in the backcountry. Please see their website for more details:

Dean-It's not a class, but an orientation/introduction into our organization. If you're still interested in joining after the meeting, you sign up that day for the physical test. Must attend to sign up for the physical test. Thanks to whomever posted this, beat me to it. See the link for further details.

Bill-There's too many youngins, we need the older/wiser folk to keep them in line.

Christian - Based on your comment I figured I'd now come to the meeting, but since my original post I now have to travel on that day for business so will not be able to make it anyway. Would really like to check this out so please keep me posted on when you will have an orientation again (in four months and 9 days I will have a LOT more time on my hands)!

Right now we only hold it once a year, unfortunately. But we have been working on doing a second orientation in Fall as well. It just takes a lot of planning and volunteer time to have another training schedule. But it could be worth it, I support the idea. Stay tuned and you can always visit a team meeting to talk to the commander or president for more info. 1st Tue of the month at North Mtn Visitors Center. Hope to see you around in 4 months and 8 days!

This is a great event and you will meet some of the best volunteers in the county. Not only do they provide a valuable service but they are also proud and honered to do it. After attending this brief you will want to be part of them.
