Introduction
Hi, I'm Audrey - wife, mother of 3, grandma of 1. I love to read, hike, daydream in fabric stores, sew, dance & garden. I enjoy the creative process, whether it's a window treatment, party plans, or landscaping, I love planning it out on paper first!
How long have you been sewing professionally? Are you wanting to learn about starting a home decor workroom? What type of sewing machines do you have? How Long have you been sewing?
For about 15 years, I've been sewing custom window treatments and also helping people complete their own projects. I learned how to sew in junior high but it was sewing for my own home and family that taught me the most. I kept trying new treatments in each room. One thing led to another and pretty soon my friends were asking to hire me. With good step-by-step curtain books, I've been able to learn how to make everything from cornice boxes and cuffed silk panels to pinch pleats and balloon shades - although I would love to take classes and learn some "tricks of the trade." My basic Bernina machine has been able to handle most tasks but I'm ready for something more powerful. I also have an overlock machine and I'd like to learn more regarding its applications for window treatments. The BEST news is that I just set up a REAL work table (12' long) and, at a friend's request, I'm ready to begin sewing and selling drapery panels through her on-line store. I'm ready to grow!
