Wake the World Arizona Charity Event October 13th 2012

Where to start ;)..A buddy of mine in SoCal hosted and organized this event and had a blast. He gave me a contact at Wake The World and he has emailed me back and would love to bring WTW to Arizona. Waketheworld.org is the site, So this is what he had to say to me in email:

I am very excited about the possibility of Wake The World in Arizona.

Thanks so much for wanting to make a difference in the lives of others. I am sending you a package of info on how to organize an event. Start with the “Welcome to Wake the World” file. The excel files are what I use to organize, feel free to blank them out and use the template.

I have a bunch of attachments and things ill be organizing to bring this event in August..But ill need help from anyone who wants to be part of this. Ill need boats/owners and as well as others..for every boat we can bring on 3-4 children.

my number is [masked] and my email is [masked] to get ahold of me and let me know..also there is forms i need to send out to boat owners too. Its a saftey online form. Its so WTW can insurance every kid with a 25k for medical and a get a 2 million worth of insurance just in case somethings happens. Ok time to explain what WTW is all about.

1st alittle about WTW! Wake the World is a non profit charitable organization that provides watersports oppurtuinities to local Children's homes. Whether it's wakeboarding , wake surfing, kneeboarding, water skiing, tubing, swimming or just hanging out in a boat, that's what we are providing for these kids that normally would not have the oppurtunity. Our events are possible because of big hearted supporters.
Currently 100% of all funds donated are used for expenses directly related to our events. We have no paid staff, everyone is a volunteer. We use office space from my business to manage WTW, so there are no office expenses.
Without the generous support of boat owners and sponsors it would cost $105 per child. But, because all of the boats, gas and alot of the food is donated, it costs about $25 to send a child for the day. Our additional expenses include: insurance, T shirts for participants and volunteers, food, soft drinks, porta johns, goody bags and door prizes.

Also My contact and I are going to bring some pro riders in as well. Plus we will be getting some media attention involved once I have a date and some paperwork sent back to him. Of course he is taking care of all that for me hehe.

    Hey chris..biggest thing for all boat owners is to complete the boatus cert online and forward it to me or shea so we can give it to greg...also to let us know if you willing to become a boat driver if u are bringing your boat or if u would like to help and support in another area..assistant to a driver etc..also if u know any connections who would love to support/donate to this event..and if u do please feel free to contact...Shea has the required paperwork if need and she also has the plan of events..we will be having another meeting shortly. I do appreciate it chris and thanks :} this event will be awesome..

    Dakota Ill ask to see if WTW does have 1...im sure they do..its pretty huge..Last year they did 9 events across 7 states and this year its around 20 events around 16 states so far. Will do Scott..

    Email has been sent to Intel Corp, awaiting word back for some donation money...Which ive been told they do enjoy to support this kind of involvement within the community..

    This is awesome. Thanks for putting this together. Is Wake the World is already a registered NPO. We could have them set up a bank account for us and have their board give one of us access. I am willing to take on the financial aspect of this. I do accounting for my mom's NPO so I have a little experience.

    greg is sending me a example for accounts, reciepts and money for donations. we may need to think about a account that some of us can deposit etc for it all. ill let some know about it and we can go for there. Also greg is at the surf expo in florida this week and will by talking about this event to the vendors out there for support and to get the word out even further. So like i said this event just got bigger!

    Ok..this event just got bigger. Just got off the phone with greg.once we get the venue set He is going to flying out here to attend. Tomorrow he is meeting with some AXIS head guys and going to be talking about this event to help and support it all since i own a Axis. He is going to be posting this event on every single forum out there to get even more boats and people involved:(Wakeworld, Nautique, MC, malibu, Axis Etc forums) He is going to call other boat places to get some involvement too. I contacted the Children's home and they have 70 kids that could attend ages 7 and up and will be sending me some forms to fill out. So that means we need about 20 boats if we can to support all the kids. i said 20-30 kids but the number of kids should or will go up.
