Salsa Dancing

  • Aug 22, 2014 · 9:00 PM

For those who are on the wait-list for dinner at Mariscos Playa Hermosa and for those who only want to join us for Salsa Dancing, I've decided to set up this meetup.

Mijana's for Latin Fridays! FUN, FUN, ABSOLUTELY SO MUCH FUN! Here's more info:

IMPORTANT: Mijana's has a $10 cover charge, I suggest bringing CASH. Salsa dancing lessons begin at 9:30pm SHARP! Let's meet a few minutes prior for chit-chat and drinks, of course! *smile*

Hey AZYP! I caught a virus from someone at work and have been n bed sick for a couple days. I was hoping to feel better by now and it's not looking like I will. Is there anyone one going tonight who would do me a HUGE FAVOR and host this event for me? There's not much to it, just b your usual personable selves and make sure people are having a great time and are being included.

What kind of attire do you suggest?

The least rubbery/grippy shoes you have is a good start. But for beginner-level stuff it doesn't matter too much.

Men, never wear shorts. T-shirt and jeans might be okay, but dressing up nicer can be a good thing. Just whatever you feel confident in. You'll want to roll up your sleeves if they're long as it can get hot.

Ladies, the tighter your outfit is around the waist/hips, the more men are going to ask you to dance. And they'll be better dancers, which means you'll learn more and better. Dress or skirt recommended.

Most importantly, salsa should be done in heels. They keep your weight on the ball of your foot and really make the spins and everything work better. But as you might not be used to so much activity in heels, bring a pair of flats so you can switch after an hour or two if need be and build up stamina that way.

    August? *blinks*

Well I suppose I don't have to RSVP for the fact that I'll already be there most Fridays between now and then. Haha.

Lesson starts at 9:30 sharp by the way, never seen it start before that. But 9:15 is a good time to aim for.
