Sewing and Textile Open Lab: Laser Cut Textiles

This week the focus will be on laser cutting textiles. Feel free to bring .dxf files and materials if you have a laser cut project you want to work on.*

Every open lab has a general focus but is not limited an could include any of the following:

Open to the public, come work on sewing, drafting patterns, repair and the textile based projects.

Crafty Rachel (thecraftyavenger.com), will be on hand to help you get started, provide basic tools and machines for sewing (including a serger), give advice on your current project, or give ideas. Also a good place for beginners to get an overview and practice or for more experienced folks to get help.

Some things that will be going on include:

* Experimenting with laser cutting fabric
* Creating open source patterns
* Basic repair and clothing reconstruction
* Installing zipper and other hardware into projects

This open lab is has a causual format that is lead by the interest of the group present.

*Laser time fees will apply. Please visit acemonstertoys.org/wiki for more information

      It isn't set up specifically for that but it is a great place to work on one.

      Also if enough folks are interested in making dress shirts I could hold a series of classes on them. Learning to do a well fit dress shirt takes a bit of time though... at least 8 hours plus work time.
