Play Artemis!

Once in a while we drag out a bunch of computers to play Artemis, a game similar to pretending you are the bridge of a Star Trek type spaceship.  For fine details about the game, you should look at http://www.artemis.eochu.com

I figure, since the 3D printing people are taking a hiatus, we take over the space to play a game!  Just this one Wednesday only, though.

Come down, have some fun, yell "more power to the engines, stat!", and blow spaceships up!

Yay we have 6 people! You better show up if you RSVP'd or I will be sad. If you don't already have the software installed try to show up a little earlier (say 6:30) so we can have time to get it going without everyone else waiting around.

Do you have the installer online somewhere? We can't make it til closer to 7 and don't want to hold anyone up.

We are playing the older 1.7 version, if you come to AMT I will already have a license that everyone can play under. It officially supports Windows, Android, and iOS -- though some of the stations are hard to play on tablets. People have gotten it to work via PlayOnMac and Crossover Office (variants of WINE)

Do we need a license before coming?
I saw this demo'd a few times at LAN events, pretty awesome!
    Also, do we need PCs?
If we could get 10 people we'd have a lot of fun, 2 spaceships

My understanding of the license is that if one person has a copy of the license, then five of his friends can also play the game with him.

I can't seem to newline without posting, so as to the next question, it only runs on PC, but I had no problem running it using Wine on a Mac. Probably equally easy on Linux.

Here are detailed instructions & playing tips for the various positions available: http://artemiswiki.pbworks.com/w/page/44188987/Station%20overviews

Suggest picking one and reading through it in advance so you will know what to do when you sit down. Like a real spaceship the controls are not super intuitive if you haven't been through starfleet academy yet.
