Acoustic Guitar and Singing in the Park

Join us at the park to play acoustic guitar and sing. We play a mix of contemporary, rock, alternative, pop and R&B music. We have some great songs for female vocalists as well. The group is very casual and friendly.

Songs that we regularly play are posted on the Meetup site for you to practice, print out and bring to the park. Log onto the Meetup site and navigate to the 'More' menu and click on the 'Files' tab to view and download the songs.  Many of the songs are recommended by fellow group members, so feel free to email me any songs with chords in a word document that you would like me to add online for the group at [masked]. Instructions for submitting songs are posted on the Discussion Board.

Bring your capo, a guitar strap, picks, a music stand if you have one, and a good
attitude. There are no dues, but everyone can bring healthy food, snacks and
drinks to share with the group during our 'snack break'.

The Meetup will be canceled if there is rain, so check the web site on bad weather days for updates.

Here is an example of some of the songs that we frequently play, but it is different each time based on the crowd and the vibe and there is a lot of openness among members to try new songs and for spontaneous jams.

· Heart of Gold – Neil Young

· Ticket to Ride - Beatles

· Wild Horses – Rolling Stones

· Times Like These – Foo Fighters

· Creep - Radio Head

· Still Haven’t found what I’m looking for – U2

· Yellow  - Coldplay

· Collide - Howie Day

· Tequila Sunrise – Eagles

· Across the Universe – Beatles

· Someone Like You – Adele

· Thank You – Dido

· Rebel, Rebel - David Bowie

· Hey Jude - Beatles

Was good fun. Nice to play outside. Thinking 'I will' by the Beatles, and 'only love can break you heart' by Neil Young would be good songs to add to the repertoire see you in a few weeks.

Another fun meet up jam. We had some great
new players today. Lots of Beatles tunes at the end for those of who stayed late. Thanks to everyone who participated!

I wanted everyone who is attending the meetup this Sunday to suggest a couple songs that we play in addition to some of our regulars. I would suggest playing Alicia Keys 'No One' and Weezer 'Island in The Sun' which are on our song lists but we have never tried before.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
