Hello,

This group is for people that have an acoustic guitar and want to start learning how to play (strum chords) and sing at the same time---without knowing ANY theory whatsoever. Guess what? 90% of guitar players in successful bands have NO IDEA how to read music. They don't HAVE to know music theory to play guitar. It's all about knowing how to play the chords in the song, the sequence they are in, and when to play them.

Perhaps you've taken boring music theory lessons in the past and ditched your guitar playing because it was no fun at all (happened to me). Or perhaps you tried strumming chords and singing in the past, but it was just too difficult to get the hang of it while you were sitting there alone in your bedroom trying to play, without someone who could give you some pointers (happened to me).

My vision is for someone who knows how to sing and play a complete song (most likely, me) to lead the group in learning a song. This may take place in a park, or even at someone's home (I don't have the room, but perhaps someone else does).
