The Lesson Plan By Eddy Duran 1712. West Indian British slave owner William Lynch allegedly travels to the United States to instruct American slave owners on how to ‘make and control' slaves; he left a letter with specific instructions. Flash forward to 2009 where we meet Nix Dunn, a Brooklyn NY public school teacher/scholar on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Obsessed with the letter, he formulates a ‘Lesson Plan' during Black History Month in a desperate attempt to substantiate his belief that the ‘slave mentality' continues to inflict psychological damage in African Americans.
