SCREEN ACTING & AUDITION TECHNIQUE WORKSHOP

COURSE INFORMATION:
The workshop begins with Screen Acting where participants will get to work with a film/television director where you will be given an excellent insight into the ways to best perform in front of a camera. The jargon, equipment, who does what in a film crew. Students are then filmed in various scripted or improvised scenarios and their work is played back to the group.

After a short break, by midday, participants will return for the second section of Audition Technique. This is a feet on the ground, no nonsense workshop designed to help give a step up for young or aspiring performers considering a career in 'the business'. Make the most of your audition experience by learning how to to create an acting CV, headshots, showreels, personal presentation, auditions to camera and side reading skills. This is geared to preparing individuals for an audition, offering physical training exercises, insider knowledge and help towards mental preparation - in particular a 'role horoscope' that anticipates the parts for which you are best suited.

Please note that tea, coffee and light snacks are provided but that you will need to bring your own lunch.

INSTRUCTOR:
Adam Morley is a casting director and a Cannes Lion award-winning director.

Adam has worked as the assistant director at the Cockpit Theatre and also directed at The Watford Palace and Old Town Hall Theatre as well as the Bull Theater. He was also the theatre development officer at Verve Productions. He then went to The Bournemouth Film School and after graduation started working for SFX and then moved to Transparent Productions UK working in commercials and Promos. Adam has since written, directed and produced for clients including MTV, Nickelodeon, Toyota, Orange, Island Records, Jessops, Alliance and Leicester amongst others. Adam was nominated for a Cannes Lion Award in 2005 and was on the creative review Creative Futures shortlist for 2005. He won The YDA Award at Cannes Lions in 2006 for a series of test films. Adam directed his first feature film in 2006 released in summer 2008 and has since directed a sci?fi series made specifically for the mobile phone as well as directing NewsRevue at the Canal Cafe Theatre (The World's longest running live comedy show). Adam has in 2007 directed for the British Army was the creative director at Impact Universal and has just started work directing for an Internet television channel POD3 TV the world?s largest producer of original online content. Adam was the Artistic Director of 'YourSpace' scratch show at the award-winning La Sweet Cantina at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
