Mobile Food Vendors Forum

Action Nc (map)

Selected By: Action NC

Street vendors create jobs, provide needed goods and services to their communities, and function as “eyes on the street” in the neighborhoods they serve. Like all Americans, street vendors have the right to earn an honest living; it is both wrong and unconstitutional for local governments to place burdensome restrictions on street vendors merely to protect brick-and- mortar businesses from competition. Join us at a forum to learn about proposed changes to Charlotte’s vendor ordinance and how you can get involved. Hear from Hector Vaca, director of Action NC in Charlotte, and Christina Walsh, director of activism and coalitions at the Institute for Justice, a public interest law firm that fights for the rights of street vendors nationwide.
