Exercising with others is always better than exercising alone. :-) Also, people less new to town can tell me which races / activities are "the best" & point out less publicized but very good events that I might've otherwise missed. I always need goals to work towards.
I like to do sprint triathlons in general...but I have to keep training to be able to do it. I'd like to get better (faster) at tris & get my running up to ~10k distance.
Outdoor stuff mostly -- Swimming in summer, walking all the time, running when the temp gets below 95, biking, gym, with occasional kayaking, climbing, hiking (if I can find some hills), etc. added in there. I'll do some race or another ~4-5 times a year.
Advanced mountain goat, and everything else - I can't go faster than you, but I might outlast you...
