Guidelines

Membership Dues - For 2009, membership dues are $5 for the year, and are due no later than January 31st. New members have 30 days from joining to pay dues. This can be done in person, through Paypal or by mail. These dues are to cover the costs incurred to use Meetup.

Inactive Members/Attendance - In order to keep our group small and intimate and also allow room for new members, the rule is as follows: Any member who has not attended events for more than 60 days, will be removed from the group. If you work or go to school which hampers you from attending within 60 days, just let me know. In general the group is very flexible. We just want to ensure that all members intend on attending when they can and will be active when time permits. Communication is key!

RSVPing - Please RSVP (yes, no or maybe) to all events. This helps me know who is active. I do not send many event notices or reminders to keep from cluttering inboxes. So you may not know of an event if you don't check the calendar a few times a month. It is also very important that you change your RSVP if you will not be attending. As a group of SAHM's who travel (some VERY long distances) it is VERY important that we know who will be attending. *In the member list my cell is listed, please contact me if you have to cancel last minute.* I will remove members who RSVP and no show more than once. This is a courtesy issue and is very easy.

In-Home Playdates - Please refrain from inviting non-member guests to in-home playdates. We have plenty of public events throughout the month where any one can attend. The reason for this guideline is to protect the privacy of our members. Some are leery of welcoming strangers into their homes, and asking the hosts may put them in an awkward position! Spouses and additional children do not count. They are always welcome to all events!

New Member Attendance - All potential new members must attend a Meet & Greet before being allowed access to the web site. This is a security measure taken to ensure the safety of my members and their families.

Privacy - Our member list and A.M. address book should never be used for any soliciting and should never be shared without the person's consent! These lists are solely for the purpose of the group.

Sick Mommas or Kiddos - If anyone is running a fever (or has in the last 24 hours), has a colored runny nose, coughs or sneezes, they should not be at playgroup. Please make sure to respect the other members by keeping you and your child home on those days! We'll see you when ya'll are better!

Behavior - No one in the group wants to ever have to discipline anyone else's child. Please make sure you are attentive to your child and what they are doing at all times! Every event of Active Moms we should be setting a good example; For those around us as well as the other children in the group..

Golden Rule - Please treat everyone with respect and courtesy. Drama is not something welcome in Active Moms. Because we are not only moms, but role models, I have very little toleration for anyone being disrespectful, crude or belittling. We have truly created a village here in Active Moms and I will take great measures to ensure it stays that way!

Responsibility - When accepting membership in this group, you are agreeing to bear the sole responsibility for your child/ren's">ren's safety and comfort at all events. Regardless of the presence of other mothers at events, it is imperative that you watch your own child/ren. In addition, event postings are not venue endorsements. You are the only one who knows your child/ren's">ren's abilities and/or limitations. It is your duty to take these things into consideration before attending an event. Once you have decided to attend an event, you assume full responsibility for any and all associated risks, foreseeable or not.

Removal - Although removing members should never be necessary, there will always be those circumstances that may call for it. And if in fact removal from the group is necessary, no fees will be returned. (If anyone would like more info about this, please contact me) I also have the right to remove members or refuse membership to anyone if I feel it is in the best interest of the group.

Active Moms - Remember, this is "OUR" group! I started this group, but I do it for all of us. You always have a voice and I encourage everyone to be an active part of event planning, decisions and the success of Active Moms. I care greatly about Active Moms and it's members! That is why I have made this list! I want everyone to ALWAYS feel comfortable. You can always come to me with any concern about the group! E-mail me anytime, about anything!
