Join Mike Burkholder for an early Saturday morning departure to Lancaster County, PA for a "Mud Sale".

Mud Sale is the Lancaster County term for an annual auction/sale at one of a number of local fire companies. The sales, appropriately named for the condition of the thawing ground in the spring (when they’re traditionally held), attract thousands of people looking for bargains on anything from Amish quilts and antiques to lumber, buggies and lawn equipment. This is a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in Lancaster County's "Plain" (Amish and Mennonite) culture!
Early 7:00 AM departure from the I-70/695 Park and Ride or from Mike's house in Catonsville depending on how many people are attending and what direction they are coming from.
Serious RSVP's only - we need to plan how many vehicles to take - Please DO NOT RSVP for this event unless you are definitely planning to attend.
We'll most likely be in the Lancaster County area all day and return to Maryland in the early evening. Lots of delicious Amish food and baked goods will be available for sale, so we will have breakfast and lunch at the auction.
There may be an opportunity to do or see something else in the Lancaster area depending on how the day goes and the size of the group attending this meetup.
If you're seriously shopping for something at the auction that you want to bring back and need a larger vehicle to transport your purchases, let me know. No, I'm not transporting any farm animals in my truck! :-)
