Seems like there might have been a lot of people that goofed this time. Perhaps we should form our own splinter book club, populated by all of us that are too disorganised to show up to the actual book club. We might run into some problems with attendance.

It was surprising how different the story was completely different from what I've encountered in popular culture. It was a little disjointed in the writing but the story wasn't too bad.

Really sorry I missed the meetup today. I got the time wrong, and thought it started at 1! I feel pretty stupid. It's a shame, because I really love this book. I could've talked for hours about it. Seriously, I would've bored you all to tears.

No problems, it would have been good to hear your thoughts on the book - next time!

Today was my first meetup, and my first bookclub meet. What a lovely bunch of people. Warm, welcoming, insightful and funny. I can see this will fast become a haunt of mine.

I agree Jo, it was my first bookclub meet too and a great bunch of people! Everyone was friendly and inclusive, and you were allowed to disagree (I've been to book clubs where a different opinion was scandalous!).

Apologies for the late cancellation. Had a nasty virus and looks like I won't be better in time. Look forward to seeing everyone at the next meet for The Sea.

    Stoopid question.

How does the waiting list clears.
Is there anyone managing the attendees?

It looks like there are not spots free for this one.
Is someone actually going to notify me that there is a vacancy or is it up to me to check frequently and if any of the attendees cancels then I can move in to attendee by myself.

    Bookclub virgin.

Hi Jay, What happens is that as someone changes their RSVP the next person opn the waiting list will be notified by email. And yes, the attendees are managed. Usually everyone on the waiting list has the opportunity to come to the meeting. We are trying a new venue for the next meeting and if suitable we will increase the number of attendees at meetings. The previous venue was not suitable for a larger group

I'm so excited to finally hit the ground running and start meeting some people (other than my girlfriend's friends and family. ;)) on my own! This book club sounds perfect, and I'm eager to start reading this book!
