Big Gaming Night!

Hello and welcome new people, or people who didn't like my style of Game Master! This meetup is to establish a regular or semi-regular friday night of games with a sci fi or fantasy twist. A lot of you have shown an interest in playing games with our regular group, and at present we have too many, so this is the meetup event for all the people who are currently missing out.

3rd EDIT:The venue will be at Sarah and Adam White's house.

•   Anyone who would like a lift from the city please leave a comment below.

I have the address and me or Sarah can send out emails to everyone who RSVP's and would like to come along.

/EDIT

The games we have played in the past, and the types of games you would be playing would be either table-top role playing games such as Dungeons and Dragons or GURPS. Card games such as Citadels, Munchkins or Resistance, or board games like Pandemic, Formula D or whatever we can get our hands on.

The idea of this event, is to establish an additional gaming group to run concurrently with the Friday Nighters already running. How often it occurs, and where it is held in the future will be up to the people who attend, what games you play will be up to you. If you don't think you are that serious about it, and just think it would be fun, this event is definitely for you!

We will also play some games on the night, and some or all of the regular Friday Nighters will be attending. So if you would like to just watch, and see how we play, or how the games work that is perfectly fine.

So don't be shy! Our regular Friday nights has turned into the highlight of my week, with good friends and good food!

    Just in case anyone's wondering...

Pavel managed to retrofit a power cell from some space armour, and activate the emergency FTL communication beacon. Those of you that were ok made it home safely to Earth (whilst missing out on your very expensive supernatural tour) and those of you that had a very traumatic exit from the virtual reality anti-virus software were heavily compensated by Worf, who now has to work double shifts at the mines, and nights as a sex worker, to pay for his fines.

Also, I neglected to mention, that those that WERE traumatised, either did or did not, download a backed up copy of their consciousness from the last time it was backed up, to a cloned body. Those that didn't, were psychiatrically altered, and spent the rest of eternity in a hospital, which closesly resembles a nursing home for the mentally ill!

Hi Jessye. Can pick you up at around 6:30 from the city. Just need a place. I come from Port Adelaide way and so North end of the city would be best. Somewhere like King William Road between Parliament House and the Festival Centre on the West side. Let me know.

For anyone wondering, we are actually at Salisbury East near bridge road. Really easy to get to and not as far out as Salisbury highway :)

That's not far for me at all. Looking forward to this, although I've never played any of those games but have always wanted to.

Sarah, would you like to email people your address so that we all know where you are?... Please?

If you cannot attend because of transport, then we may be able to arrange a lift from and back to the city for that night. Let us know, and we'll try and arrange something

That's right. We're trying to accommodate everyone but thought we should have one night with the current group, and the hopefuls group! What happens after Dec 13th is up to you! :)

If the venue is close to the city I can come.

I just checked in with Justice Comics, and they said we are welcome to come, but that we may not be able to secure a table. They don't do reservations, and friday nights are their busiest night, and most people get there well before 7pm.

I also checked with the Astor, and while they aren't able to accommodate us on Dec 13th, the Jan 17th was available, but it would generate a $50 booking fee since friday nights are also their busiest night.

If you are thinking "Why not hold it on another night?" you might be correct in thinking that we would be accommodated for, but our group has found that most people are more available on a friday night, and more prepared to stay until midnight than on a week night. Fridays are best.

So we would welcome anyone else to join, and host the night, given that not everyone is able to make the trek out to Salisbury...

    Anyone?

I have to book it through my uni profile. It says on the website that the max capacity is 8 people. I'll check it out and see if it's a possibility!

      November 9, 2013

    • Liam H.

We might need more than 8... 10 already are coming... Perhaps we could just chuck a few tables together somewhere?

      November 10, 2013

  • Liam H.

So it looks like we might be under the wonderful hospitality of the Whites come Friday night, December 13th. I think they live in Salisbury, and after which, the attendees can decide where they would like to have it on a more regular basis!

Can we have it somewhere more central? That is too far for me to travel.

      November 9, 2013

    • Liam H.

We'll see if Nancy can organise something at the uni

Friday night, Hindley street ..... shanked or bashed, which one would you like, sir?

We can have it at our house I'd the other venues don't work. We have a back room that has a giant table for 12 or so. And lounges for another 6!

      November 7, 2013

    • Liam H.

Yes Sarah that might work... Thanks! :)
