An informal discussion and study group in human emotions, their development and their effect upon human behaviour.

This casual relaxed gathering is for anyone who may have found the psychiatric model for the pathway to mental health and happiness, that being one of meds-meds-meds-meds put them in beds then give them more meds, has not been totally fulfilling and wishes to explore the rapidly expanding volume of recent literature and research in the field of Attachment and Human Behavioral Development as well as the technical advances that are occurring in neurobiological electronic digital imaging.

Having said that, this group is especially for those who have some experience, awareness or knowledge of, or who have training in, Developmental Disorders such as Attachment and Reactive Attachment Disorders in children and adults. This includes parents, single or not, wrestling with control issues, as well as foster parents who are trying to adopt a rattle snake and having difficulty figuring out how to hug it. It’s for those who are frustrated with their treatment for a bipolar condition which has been leading them around in circles, as well as professionals versed in the works of John Bowlby, Daniel Siegel, Gordon Neufeld, Daniel Hughes, Barbara Strauch and the many others writing in this field. However, it’s also for those who may have seen the This Emotional Life series on PBS and are simply curious, those who have really never clicked in a relationship or those in a relationship that isn't really clicking.

As facilitator, I will do my best to invite a guest to each gathering who is accredited in the field of Adfectology (the study of human emotional behaviour), both as a catalyst for discussion and to intelligently answer questions. Professionals that might wish to volunteer for such a mission may contact me either by writing to me c/o PO Box 21077, Stratford, ON N5A 7V4 or through this web site. I’ll be happy to cover the cost of your evening’s refreshments.
