Upper and Lower Wolf Jaws

Upper and Lower Wolf Jaw Meet up time for carpooling at exit 16 P&R: 5:30am We'll meet at the Ausable Club parking lot (7:00am St. Huberts). We'll follow the West River trail and then the Wedgebrook trail on up to the Col between the two summits. It will be about 13 miles round trip for both peaks...Lots of steep pitches and ups and downs. I anticipate a strenuous, but very doable day hike Please bring the usual, 3 liters of water, plenty of food, RAIN GEAR, change of clothing, extra socks, whistle, map and compass, headlamp with fresh batteries (I doubt we'll need them, but always be prepared for the unthinkable), positive attitude...

Was glad to have company on the trip. Hot humid day makes hiking more of an effort. Drank 3 liters of water and ran out just as I got to the ranger cabin. Hazy views from the summits....We reached what we thought was the summit of Upper Wolf Jaw and hiked back almost to the col between the Jaws when I asked other hikers about a summit marker...was told we reached the false summit...so we hightailed it back up and over to the real summit. I wish AMR would put more signs up that told the miles and put summit markers of some sort on the peaks.
