Postpartum Moods and Challenges
This is a Drop-In Support Group focused on the moods and challenges you may be feeling after the birth of your baby. Find support, friendship, and a safe and welcoming environment to discuss the highs and lows of your experience of becoming a mother.
The challenges catch many off-guard, and the hormonal or physical reaction some experience can be overwhelming at times. If you sometimes feel as if:
* You've had conflicting or negative feelings about your pregnancy or baby,
* You can't stop being sad or feeling guilty,
* Anxiety, panic, or worry just won't go away,
* Everyone is a better mother than you,
* You may just not be cut out for this job,
...please come join us to be heard, understood, supported, encouraged, and strengthened.
We welcome women who find the challenges of motherhood to be different than they expected, those who are surprised at the complexity of their experience and want a safe place to think out loud, as well as those with a diagnosis of prenatal or postpartum anxiety or depression.
The group is confidential and is facilitated by Jessica Sorci, MA, MFT Intern, under clinical supervision by Sharon Storton, LMFT, who has over 20 years' experience supporting mother/baby wellness. The group fee is $20 per meeting unless other arrangements have been made in advance (please contact Jessica).
