I live in NW Austin and devote my time to helping reunite people separated by adoption. By day I am a nurse of 30 years and currently work in the ER at Scott and White in Round Rock. Most important job I have is that of NaNa to my 2 grandkids.
In 1961 my mother's parental rights were illegally terminated, I was 3 and separated from my entire family. After 6 years in foster care I was adopted. In 1976 I turned 18, had my file opened, and located my entire family within 2 years. Since then I have reunited many people as a Search Angel and this year founded TexARS; Texas Adoptee Reunion Services, a non-profit to help even more people on their quest. Alex Haley said it best: “In all of us there is a hunger, marrow-deep, to know our heritage- to know who we are and where we have come from. Without this enriching knowledge, there is a hollow yearning. No matter what our attainments in life, there is still a vacuum, an emptiness, and the most disquieting loneliness. ”
