Monthly Adult ADHD Support Group

Topic for the coming Wed 3/21 meeting will be generated by you all. That is to say, we'll start with a list of topics/issues you have questions about or are struggling with. And each of you will have the opportunity to provide your wisdom, experience, and/or resources in response. Whatever questions do not get covered or answered to the inquirer's satisfaction will be answered here online.

This approach to the meeting offers you all a chance to note the resource you have in each other.

Warning: facilitator will not be me this month. I will be at a conference. Fear not, however, Marcel my husband is as good as people get for not having ADHD. :) And that is a high compliment!

If you would like to pose a question or concern here before the meeting - to give people a chance to ponder it, feel free!!!!

I'm not able to make it to the group this week.. But a friend recommended a site to me for brain training.. I've been on this for maybe 15 minutes a day for 2 weeks and it has helped me to improve attention, focus..etc.. wanted to pass it on..

In 2 weeks, my BPI increased from the 21st to the 57th percentile as compared to others my age group. A lot of it for me, was familiarizing myself with the site game. Whenever I play any of the games now (max of 30 minutes a day), my scores keep going up quickly. Attention and memory are now my highest categories, which I think help me in all the other training categories and of course improvements have helped me in my work...etc. Highly recommend the site!

As an FYI.. I'm in an ADHD study which is being done through Mass General Hospital.. it's a maximum of 8 hours, with pay of $150 (no drug testing). I believe they are still taking applicants if anyone from the group is interested.

I felt bad for the person who is on multiple medications but has difficulty finding a working regimen because he processess the meds too quickly. I've been lucky in having good results with medication. I wish there was more discussion on alternative therapies for people with ADD that have been proven affective.
