Meetup Schedule for January 22nd, 2014
Are you ready for the first AWP meetup of 2014? We hope so! This year is going to be full of WordPress awesomeness and the organizers are working hard to ensure this group doesn't miss a beat.
If you have never been to one of our meetups before here's a little bit of what to expect:
The AWP meetup is not a traditional, go sit and listen, style meetup. We run a round-table type forum where conversation (WordPress-related of course) is encouraged. Each person who chooses will get a chance to share their code, cool plugins or themes or anything more advanced that's WP related to the crowd and speak about advanced WordPress topics. We will have pizza, soda and beer.
It's a good idea to bring a laptop so you can share your code, write notes, save links, etc. during the meetup.
6:00 - 6:15 Pre-meeting Networking
The meet up doesn't 'officially' kick-off until 6:15ish. Please try to get here during the half-hour before so you can mingle, network and hang out with fellow AWPers. We understand people have a hard time getting downtown or finding parking so there's a slight buffer. During this time we will start to pass around the sign up list for those looking to share.
6:30 - 6:45 Hellos, Heys and Introductions
Introduce yourself to the group, don't be shy, we are a friendly bunch. Please tell us your name and what you do, and your experience with WordPress. Have you written a plugin or theme? Maybe you're a blogger or business owner that uses WordPress. That's great! What you looking to get out of the meetup?
6:45 - 7:00 What's in the WP News?
WordPress news roundup. In this time we'll talk about what's happened since our last meeting in the WordPress world. There's always so much going on... this is a brief run through of some of interesting and discussed topics on the AWP facebook group.
