Exploration of Creswell Craggs

Hope you can join us for a fun and adventurous day at Creswell Craggs.

Whether you are looking for a quick stroll or a daylong hike, the area has trails to suit many different tastes and is suitable for any age range. Creswell Crags is a world famous archaeological site, a limestone gorge with caves and lake;

http://www.creswell-crags.org.uk/

We will be meeting at 11am in the main car park and will be messing around in the Crags until 3pm and will be enjoying a picnic along the way so bring a picnic and a good old flask of tea!

There is a £2 donation advised for car parking, there is no admission price for the Craggs. You can pay to attend the exhibition or go on a cave tour if you so desire. Cave tours are for ages 5 and up. Check the website for details and prices.

If you are using SatNav use the postcode S80 3LH and then follow signs when in the vicinity.

If you're coming by train then Creswell Crags is about a mile walk from the local railway station of Creswell. The Robin Hood line stops at Creswell about once an hour. On exiting the station, turn left onto Elmton Road. At the junction turn right and at the mini-roundabout turn left. Then bear right towards Crags Cottages to walk up through the gorge and avoid the main road.

Hope to see some of you there for some fun!

    We had such a lovely time, thanks for being a first class host Dave, and thanks to all 'adventurers' for coming... sunshine, a pretty place, picnics, meeting new people, good friends and kids having fun outdoors exploring the crags ... Good times. See you soon, cheers, Tasha and Joshua x

    My sister has just asked this question and I said I would ask. Can she bring her dog? It's a very small dog. So sure he would be no problem but I understand it if would prefer him not to come along. Thanks
    Lisa :)

    Just checked on the Ice Age Tour and details are as follows:

    Tour times: 1pm, 2pm & 4pm - I've booked on the 1pm!
    Currently 16 places left - book on:[masked] - it may fill fast!

    Costs: Family ticket - 2 adults+ 2 kids £23.50, 1 adult + 2 kids £14.50, 1 adult + 3 kids £18. (All I believe are a saving on the individual price)

    Gift Aid: costs the same, but you get a YEARS FREE PASS for unlimited repeated visits the activity you pay for (ie: Ice Age Tour)

    Hope this is useful and you don't think I'm taking over David/Natasha!?

    Is anyone interested in the tours? I've been recommended the Ice Age tour - though apparently not recommended for under 5s as i think its quite dark! Will try to find out the times as I think it may need to be booked in advance.
