Guadalupe Canoe and Camping (map)
If you've been to one of these before you know it's not to be missed! Bring a tent and stay overnight if you wish
Bring wood if you can. We'll have a keg of Alamo Ale, BYOB on any other adult beverages. We'll be set up around lunchtime. Feel free to bring any kind of munchie or snack to add to the mix. We'll have water, and all plates, utensils and kitchen gear. We'll have a small fire going during the day, and will start piling it on around dusk. The fire will probably be at its biggest around 9:00 PM but will be going all night.
Fire up your tastebuds and get ready to sample some great tasting chili. We will be electing several judges for this competition and will award a couple prizes for the winners, plus you get bragging rights til next year. The only rule is you must cook the chili there at the campsite. Two categories, With Beans and Without Beans. We'll also have a BBQ grill going for anyone who wants to grill anything.
Guadalupe Canoe & Camping is located about 1/4 mile North of the Guadalupe River bridge on US 281, NOT right at the bridge.

And how will this event be affected by the weather since rain is predicted all weekend.
We will have community kitchen gear set up, it's first-come, first-served on that. Usually enough burner space, pots aren't as plentiful. Best thing is to bring everything you need just in case. Not sure how many will be cooking.
We will be out there rain or shine. The rain is supposed to clear by Saturday evening, the issue will be how soft the ground gets from the rain. No way to tell right now. In December we had the bonfire while it was raining, plenty of canopies. It was wet, but we still had a huge fire and a lot of fun. Rain or threat of rain always hurts attendance, but the diehards will be there regardless.
wondering what cooking supplies need to be brought besides our food for the chili. :)
