Discount Skiing / Snowboarding @ Mt. Baldy Sat Feb 23 [AP]

  • Feb 23, 2013 · 9:00 AM

Let's do some discount skiing / snowboarding at Mt. Baldy! Lift tickets are normally $69 so we're getting a great deal. In addition to spending the day together it would be fun to play some games on the slopes like leap frog and follow the leader! At lunch time we'll get food together at the Top of the Notch restaurant. Big 5 has some good deals on gloves and hats if needed. Mt. Baldy is an hour and fifteen minutes away from West LA.

$69 at Mt. Baldy's website

- $69 for beginner lift ticket, ski or snowboard rental, and group lesson. This is the best deal if you're a total beginner and need gear rentals, a lesson, and lift ticket. This lift ticket is restricted to the beginner chair lift #2 Sugar Pine.

---- RENTALS ----
All day rentals are $30 and can be purchased at the mountain.

We'll meet near the ticket windows.

---- DIRECTIONS ----
From 210 Freeway: Exit Mountain Ave in Upland, drive north on Mountain Ave. After a few lights you will see a stop sign, continue straight (north). When second stop sign appears, continue slightly left (west) onto Mountain Ave. Continue passing dam on your left and Ranger station on your right. After the ranger station, you will cross small bridge. Take the next turn right (north) uphill onto Mt Baldy Rd. Continue 4 miles to the village and other 3 miles to Ski Lifts. Parking is $5.

I've never been there. Are snow tires or chains needed?

I can't make it this Saturday but would love to go snowboarding another time if you plan another event. Mountain High would be good too.

Mt. Baldy seems like the perfect place to knock some of the rust off.
