7th Annual SLC Chariot Bar Crawl (legalities caused the name change :( )

Reserve the date for the annual urban dog sleigh race. Dog sleigh, really? Not exactly. The tradition started in Alaska with real dogs, sleighs and mushers. Then it also moved into  urban areas with people as dogs and shoping carts as sleighs.
The local area bars serve as the intermediate water...er....beer stations.
It's a race, and there are raffle prizes and  SLC knowledge trivia . But the ultimate fun is in getting a team together 4-10 people, creating a theme. Decorating the shopping cart and ourselves accordingly, and let our hair down or is it- our spirits loose? :)

You can be a total teetotaler and still enjoy this event.

Look up the event page on facebook, by following the link posted in comments by Josh. There are prizes this year, but there are NO raffle tix to purchase prior to the event.
More details to come, as we draw near.
But sign up early and get the teams going, as it takes some time to plan and execute the team name/theme/costume ideas.

Apparently, legalities caused the name of the event to be changed to what it reads now. Nothing else has changed though. :)

It's official, coughing up a storm all night, I am in no position to make the entire day of madness. My team and i will be there around 5 pm, unarmed. However, if you are planning on going, please show up at the regular dpot at 2 pm (race starts at 2:30) to join the thirsty crowd. I assure you, you won't be alone. ; )

Looks like rain. Will we still run?

I personally may be bailing on the initial 3 hours if it rains, but plan on joining in at the last two or so stops.

    do you provide carts?

    February 16, 2014

    • Jola

Nope, you are on your own arranging for carts and decorating them. Most grocery stores' managers will work with you if you ask to rent one and promise to return. :)

There are 4 of us. 2 adults (pretty much well behaved), and 2 well-behaved straight "A" teens. How many on a team?

    February 4, 2014

    • Jola

Robin, teens may be a problem, as all bars have 21 and up restrictions. Unless the teens want to wait outside while the adults are "watering" un between race installments. Usually stops are no longee than 20-30 minutes. Teams can be as small as 3-4 and as big as 10.
