Another beautiful San Jacinto hike along the Desert Divide trail. We'll start off hiking up the Morris Ranch road with about a 1400' gain that is gently graded up
to the PCT. Once we hit the PCT we'll head over Lion mountain, hike on up to that & check out the views overlooking the Santa Rosas.
Then head back down to the PCT, bag Pyramid & then continue on to do some fun cross country to hit Pine Mountain with some rock scrambling to get to the top.
The trip to Pine Mountain is an excellent outing along a particular wild & wonderful section of the San Jacinto Range known as the Desert Divide. From up here you can see the mountains separate from the valleys & extend along a prominent ridge that produce stunning vistas.
The first part heading up to Pine is covered with a huge Manzanita field.
Sometimes there's a trail, sometimes not! You may want to wear long pants. :)
Plan on an all day event!
