Ontario Peak is one of my favorite hiking destinations. Round trip it's about 13 miles and 4,000 feet of elevation gain. The peak is 8,693 feet and is named for the nearby city of Ontario. It first appeared in the General Land Office Forest Atlas in 1908.It doesn’t look like the weather will be too hot Saturday. See the link below for the weather at the various elevations. Bring: Sturdy shoes, at least 2 liters of water, snacks, lunch, repellant, a hat, poles if you use them, sunscreen, and your ten essentials. YOU WILL NEED AN ADVENTURE PASS TO PARK AT THE TRAILHEAD.
