Very much like what you are doing with the students.
Much info on the web, it is easier for me to critique your web than myine!
I would reduce the amount of content on first page so the navigation looks easier, quickly intuitive.
i think we both are passionate and write effusively but the world out there wants sound bites, the quick info to see if going further is a go. maybe a few graphics, or quotations in larger font, dunno, just some thoughts. I will explore it in more detail. j
