I am coming from the GWB so for this one looks like I'd be driving right through Mahwah to get there. I'd be interested in carpooling. I'd be primarily interested in a ride if others are willing to drive. Just really prefer not to drive quite so far.

I am planning to be at the Sheraton at 7. Is there any particular area of the parking lot where we should park and meet?

Andrea, Depends on lighting. If the sun is out and strong, we'll probably want to stop shooting around 11:00 a.m. If sky is overcast, we can shoot later. However, people can leave whenever they want to. Just have to get others in car to agree to the same time.

I'll be leaving from Bronx, NY and driving I-87 so I will not be meeting in Jersey. Can we meet up at the event?

    August 24, 2013

    • Martin J.

Raqeul, You can certainly go up to the event on your own. The problem will be meeting up with the group once your there. It's a big place with a lot of people moving around. We can try to coordinate a meeting place at the site by staying in touch via cell phone.

From these photos, it doesn't look like we need a big telephoto. Does a[masked] seem like the right thing to use?

    August 24, 2013

    • Martin J.

Yes.......but. I would definitely bring the 70 - 200. The 24 - 105 will work in most instances but not all. There may be some jumps in the middle of the rink that need the extra distance. You will be able to use a tripod if you wish. I usually set my 70 - 200 up on a tripod and hand carry another body with as 24 - 70 lens.
