Camping & Kayaking at Pawtuckaway SP

We will kayak, camp and socialize around the campfire. You can come for just kayaking, or camping or both.  Anyone just kayaking can come for an apres paddle social and campfire singalong back at the site.

They do rent kayaks at the beach store by the hour, but not until 10:00. You should call the park for more info.

Or there is a place to rent by the day on the Mountain Rd which leads up to the park - Mountain Road Trading Post.

CAMPING INFO: Please read carefully:

Pam, Dennis, Linda and I (and maybe one or 2 others) will be camping there Friday and Sat night at the Neal's cove area, if you want to join us there are several good spots left as of today (June 30), but they fill up fast.

Sites are $30 per night plus $10 reservation fee.

I reserved #222 and Pam reserved #221 both on the water (sort of).  Let me know if you get a site.

Sorry - no more room on our sites! If you didn't reserve one, you can try, but they are probably filled now.  Maybe in one of the other loops!

They only allow 2 tents per site and a max of 4 adults per site, but they charge $10 per adult per night over 2 adults.

Check in time is 1:00 for campsites.

Click here to reserve your spot at Reserve America NOW! Look for Neal's cove loop.

Here's a map of the park if you haven't been there: http://www.nhstateparks.com/Maps/pawhiking.html

Enter the park at point 1 and the canoe launch is at point 3 (turn right and then right again).

Take exit 5 off Rt101 and follow Rt156 to Mountain Rd. There is a park sign there.  Follow Mountain Rd to the park entrance.

Matthew, not sure about an event for Friday. 1 o'clock is check in time for camping but we will probably be there later. I may get there early But at this point I don't know what my schedule will be depending on what I do Thursday. You are welcome to come join us for dinner and campfire later if you would like

Coming to the park on Friday afternoon. Will you be at the campsite at the 1pm event start?

    August 27, 2013

  • Cindy M

Yeah, as I suspected, it looks like it'll just be the 4+1 of us camping!

    August 19, 2013

  • Cindy M

Our 2 sites are full now. Renee and Jim did u get sites?

    August 16, 2013

  • Cindy M

Check in for camping is 1:00. I am not sure what my plans are for kayaking on Friday. Maybe late afternoon? Will update a schedule soon. Definitely kayaking about 10am on Saturday, stop for lunch and swimming (if it warms up!) on an island and then we can end up at the site for cocktails, supper and campfire fun.

Sunday have to check out of campsite by 11am, but we might be able to do a late morning paddle after we pack up.

If you are planning on camping, let me know if you have a site or want to share with us. Right now there are 4-5 of us on the 2 sites.

    July 15, 2013

    • Cindy M

If you're just kayaking, I have seen a small dog kayaking there. I am not sure but I think I remember something about not having dogs in the campground.

      July 15, 2013

This should be a lot of fun! Love kayaking there and musical entertainment in the evenings perfect! I also reserved a site on the water so we have enough spots for everyone! Site 221 In Neals Cove!

    June 30, 2013

    • Cindy M

Well it's not really ON the water but near enough to the water but there may be trees blocking the view

      July 3, 2013

  • Tess

We will just kayak no camping !!

    July 3, 2013

  • Cindy M

I changed my site to #222 and Pam reserved #221 both across from the water. Let us know if you get a site, or if you want to share with us. Right now it's Dennis, Pam and I in those 2 sites. NOTE: they only allow 2 tents per site and a max of 4 adults per site, but they will charge $10 per adult over 2! So we will have to make sure we know what everyone wants to do. And then we can figure it out. So if you want to share these sites, let me know. First come, first served.

Also 2 vehicles per site, but extras can be parked in the beach parking lot.

    July 1, 2013

  • Cindy M

No the link doesn't work to the site #, I guess my cache got cleared. So just put in the dates on the side and Pawtuckaway and then scroll down to Neals' Cove sites. If you click on the little map it will expand so you can click on the blue sites.
