We've put together a great day of adventure at Bonticou Crag, a remote area in the Gunks with an abundance of adventuring opportunities and spectacular scenery, especially during peak foliage. The day starts with a short approach hike through flowering meadows and on wooded trails. After a scramble up a field of huge boulders, we'll suit up with helmets and harnesses, receive instruction from our certified rock guides and climb routes of varying degrees of difficulty. If you've ever climbed at a fair or indoor rock wall, you'll notice some similarities. All levels are welcome and no previous experience is needed. In between climbs you'll have a chance to do some more scrambling, hiking and bird watching (there's always a bunch of turkey vultures around). You'll even have an opportunity to spelunk through the dark, creepy labyrinth of Bonticou Cave...we'll provide the headlamps. The day concludes with a rappel down from the top of the cliffs and a beautiful hike back to our cars. Come join other like-minded individuals for a fun day full of exciting activities, fresh mountain air and good company
