What: Adventure in the Gunks. A full day of adventure in one of the nation's premier rock climbing locations. Although just 1.5 hours from Long Island, once up in the "Gunks" you'll feel light years away from it all. The day will start with an introduction from our AMG certified climbing guides (best in the business), discussion of rock climbing basics and getting fitted with gear (helmet, harness, carabiner, climbing shoes, etc). We'll spend part of the day climbing on a variety of routes at some of the best cliffs in the nation. No prior experience or skill is necessary as our guides will help you with all you need to know and have you on a safety belay the entire time so you can just let go and "hang" out anytime you want. For those who do have some experience and want to be challenged, they'll be plenty of opportunities as we'll be at Peterskill, considered by many to be the best of Gunks. Once you've had a chance to climb a few times, we'll bring you up to a scenic high ledge by foot, but take a short cut down by rappelling (rapping). You'll take control of your own descent as you walk down the cliff's face, just like spider man...all the time being on a backup safety belay. And to round off the day, we are going to set up a Tyrolean Traverse, (like a zip line) that will leave you begging for more hours in the day. Grab some well deserved grub in funky New Paltz (college town) and we're on our way home with memories that won't soon be forgotten.
