"I have to wonder what my life would have been like if I had known what this was 40 years ago. Then again, knowing and changing are 2 different things."
"To assist others with adult ADD, families with ADD/HD children, and to do so in a fun, social environment where no one will feel intimidated, nervous or shy."
"There are people in my life who were misdiagnosed with other disorders that turned out to ne ADD. This was like finding a path in the middle of the woods. "
"I was diagnosed w/ ADHD 6 yrs ago, which goes a long way in explaining the "your gifted child fails to live up to potential" notes scribbled on my school..."
To gather together all of those who grew up with ADD but never knew it had a name. To discuss ADD/HD-related problems and become a support group for others who suffer from this malady but feel they are too old to do anything about it. It is never too late to heal. The group also welcomes friends and family members of those affected by ADD/ADHD. We plan to get together in a social atmosphere on a monthly basis to interact and "compare notes". Professionals in the field of ADD/HD will be invited to address each gathering, providing suggestions for improvement and answering questions from the attendees. Gatherings are held at Bon Air Presbyterian Church on the third Tuesday of each and every month. Special social events are also scheduled throughout the year. Let's get together for a better future for all of us.
