Columbia traditions, part 2- Cooper's Landing

What's Cooper's Landing? It's a marina on the Missouri River (one of the few in Missouri), a campground, a live music venue, a well-known rest stop on the Katy Trail for cyclists. It's where the original Chim's Thai got started, and they serve barbeque as well.

I've scheduled this one for Sunday evening, not really for the food but for the music. Lee Ruth has been an important part of this area's music scene for a long time. His set with Al Jolly (who I don't know but I listened to a couple of his youtube videos) looks like it'll be fun. Go to their website (http://www.cooperslanding.net/) for directions how to get there and more about the place. The music's scheduled to start at 6, so I propose we get there at 5:30. No rsvp limit; I look forward to seeing lots of you there.

Still working -- looks as though I won't be able to make it. Have fun and enjoy!

Seating is a random placement of long wood picnic tables that seat 8-10 each... Sunday's are typically less crowded, so you should be able to procure 2-3 easily.

Myself and several others will arrive around 6:30... I am riding my bike from downtown Columbia.

I changed my RSVP to no but I hope to still come. It just is leaning more to not. :(

Since it looks like this'll be the first AIF (the group) meetup for a lot of you, I'll try to find a table and set up the flimsy printed-out meetup sign there. I have no idea what the seating/table situation is like. If you get there before 5:30 and don't see me (that's me in the picture to your left), feel free to stake out some territory for us. I'm also tossing in some folding chairs.

I will be there at some point for sure. But not sure when as I'll be coming from an earlier commitment. Al Jolly plays at 2 pm and he's certainly worth hearing, too. Lee starts at 6 pm. Was there last night for the Singer Songwriter Jam and it was just unbelievably idyllic, playing with friends under the Singing Tree, watching the river flow, a gentle breeze blowing, and witnessing a gorgeous sunset.

Could have sworn I put 5:30 but I'll check what's there when I get home tonight. Mobile site says 7. I'll fix tonight.

How wonderful! I will be there! Lee Ruth is a longtime friend. Some years ago, a 2-disk tribute CD of Lee's songs was produced by the Radio Ranger at KOPN Radio: http://radioranger.org/LeeRuth/index.htm. Here's how it got started: http://radioranger.org/LeeRuth/NewsandReviiews/openmic.htm. Thanks for organizing this.

Don't need to count me officially, as I have been biking out to have dinner at Cooper's every Sunday evening for the past two months just about... So I will be there.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
