Title kind of says it all, don't you think? I want to find the Chinese place our Chinese students and residents love, the Arabic place on Providence I keep meaning to try, Cafe Poland downtown, and so many more. I want to take friends, old and new, to my favorites-- 44 Stone for English, La Terraza for Mexican, Chinese Wok Express for Vietnamese, Bamboo Terrace and ABC for Chinese, Curries for Indian, Cracker Barrel for redneck (hey, I LIKE Cracker Barrel, that potato casserole thing, anyway). If enough of us are amenable, we can do field trips to KC and StL (or, gasp, Chicago!) to cleanse the palate, so to speak. Come with us...you don't need a passport to taste the world!
I've lived in CoMo since 1999. Before that, I lived in Austin, Houston, the UK, Bahrain, and Malaysia, so yes, I've had bangers and mash, baba ghanoush, and satay, and yes, I like them all. Day job? lawyer for the state.
We got there at 6 and it was closed, a handwritten sign on the door saying "closed at 3." I proposed we try La Tolteca on the other side of Providence, where La Terraza used to be. It wasn't the worst Mexican food I've ever had, let's leave it at that. On the other hand, the company was great. Silvia is a lady of many layers. I really enjoyed her company.
