Los Angeles, CA 90007
Part 2 - CHIP House Exhibit - Noon

CHIP was built by the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) and the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), and sponsored by Hanwha Solar. It won first place in the energy balance contest at the U.S. Department of Energy-sponsored Solar Decathlon competition in September 2011.
Praised for its unique look, the 750-square-foot, net-zero home features a quilted exterior—fittingly compared to a giant pillow or spacesuit—where insulation is stretched around the frame rather than stuffed inside it. In temperate Los Angeles, CHIP's 45 solar panels generate three times more electricity than what the home uses—enough to power two electric cars along with the lighting, appliances, and heating and cooling systems. Most notably, the solar panels power an Xbox Kinect motion-sensitive video game system that has been turned into a master command center, allowing residents to turn lights and appliances on and off simply by pointing at them.
Part 3 - IMAX Movie "Born to be Wild" - 1:30pm show
http://www.imax.com/borntobewild/#/video/tr... Born to be Wild 3D is an inspiring story of love, dedication and the remarkable bond between humans and animals. This film documents orphaned orangutans and elephants and the extraordinary people who rescue and raise them—saving endangered species one life at a time.
Stunningly captured in IMAX 3D, Born to be Wild 3D is a heartwarming adventure transporting moviegoers into the lush rainforests of Borneo with world-renowned primatologist Dr. Biruté Mary Galdikas, and across the rugged Kenyan savannah with celebrated elephant authority Dame Daphne Sheldrick, as they and their teams rescue, rehabilitate and return these incredible animals back to the wild.

We would like to join you for breakfast/brunch, Jason, I promise my son is a good boy but if its a problem for me to bring him then we can just meet you at the museum. Let me know. Thanks!
Aly, It's fine for you to bring your son...Can't deprive him of pancakes.
Great! Thanks Jason, it will be my mom, Aaron and I. See ya then!
So, Jason... Is the parking easy? One stop, and walk to the other 2, correct? Do you have a preferred parking lot, or the one at Exposition?
Did a little checking... Bit of a walk... About 15 blocks between JNJ's and Exposition Park. Looks like easy parking @ J'nJ's...
This sounds fantastic, would love to join you guys. Cheeky question (I'm a Brit, we're a cheeky bunch), might anyone be driving from the Santa Monica area? I'm new in town, and car-less. No worries if not, will investigate bus options. Apologies in advance if I cry over the orangutans ... I get a bit soft about animals!
Just FYI, the general admission is only $8.25, $6.75 for adults in a group.
Jason, all of this looks awesome! But I whined my way into a San Gabriel Dim Sum Meetup at 10:30 that morning, so...is it ok if I just join y'all for the movie, and if so, where will you be at 1:15? THANKS!
Eileen...you can show up for any part of it....so go ahead and sign up and we'll see you at the IMAX show
I'm sorry we will not be joining you for breakfast as gas prices are crazy expensive so we will meet you at the first exhibit. Jason, can I have ur cell # incase I can't find you?
Is that for the movie, 10:50? Is that the start time? cuz we won't make it then.
I'm sorry, we are just running way to late and we are not gonna make it. :(
Sounds wonderful... but, the Science Center has shows @ 10:30 & 3:30... Or am I missing something? What's the price, by the way?
