Join us for a hike on the New Hope Trail at Jordan Lake. The New Hope Trail begins near the bathrooms at the boat ramp. The red loop is 5.4 miles and the blue loop is 2.7 miles in length. This trail has several steep hills. Hikers will enjoy sweeping views of the lake, mature hardwood forests, groves of mountain laurel, lush creek crossings and a variety of wildflowers and ferns.
We will be meeting at:
448 W H Jones Rd
New Hill, NC 27562
*Turn right after the entrance shack onto the paved road. If you hit gravel/dirt and start going up a hill, you've gone too far. We will meet in the first parking lot on the left near the bathrooms.
Map of area:
As a side note, this hike will continue until April when they start charging for parking. Parking at Lake Jordan is charged daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day; charged on weekends and holidays in April, May and September. Pass holders are entitled to an unlimited number of visits without paying the usual $6/day admission fee.
We will be doing the shorter trail as you get more lake views from it unless there is a unanimous vote for the other trail. Hope you can make it out!
