This will be a day trip to Hanging Rock to try to catch a last glimpses of Fall Foliage that Sandy may have left behind.
While the goal is to get some exercise, this will be fairly leisurely day. We will try to maintain a 2 mph pace with frequent stops for photo ops and, of course, lunch. We will hike the park circuit of approximately 8 miles before heading back to the Triangle.
Hiking boots are highly recommended and attendees should being plenty of food and water. Raingear is mandatory as weather is unpredictable. Carpools can be arranged at the meeting point. Participants should arrive at Harrison Square prepared to drive, but also have enough cash on hand for carpool costs in case they ride.
