I like doing things that the normal Joe cannot do every day. Anyone can hike Umstead, Ski Snowshow, paddle on Falls Lake, or car camp at a State park, but who can ultralight back-pack camp for days in rain, snow, and cold, ski the black diamond’s of beautiful western U.S. slopes, or paddle down unknown flooding rivers? Don’t get me wrong, I like the easy stuff too, but I like traveling where few have gone before me. It makes the trip a delightful challenge that will be remembered for a long time.
Where ever the wind blows me. Usually the river, lakes, and mountains. I want to do a week long Half Dome pack-in camp trip! Part of my bucket list for a long time. (2015 Halfdome will come true, 12 days scheduled in Yosemite, 6 days of it backpacking)
I'm an ultralight pack camping type. If my pack is over 25 pounds with water, I have to much. I'm not speedy, but I get there. And I hope to share fun experiences with other like minded individuals while being in the great outdoors.
"I AGREE", but that was along time ago, and my feeble mind has forgotten most of it. Basically, don't be who you don't like, and do 'much more' unto other as you would expect them to do unto you. We are only on this spinning blue marble for a short while, make it fun for everyone.
Just get me into the wild and I'll be happy. Less is more if you know what I mean.
Another great time with a nice bunch of THOG folks.
