What type of THOG events are you interested in participating in? (ie hiking, backpacking, camping, cycling, paddling, skiing, snowshoeing, nature photography, geocaching, etc)?

Running, trail running, hiking, camping, horseback riding, biking, swimming, all water sports (kayaking, canoeing, boating, ww-rafting), snowshoeing scavenger hunts, bon fires, picnics, tailgating and attending sporting events. Some rock climbing and some skiing.

Here's your chance to show off! Where are your favorite places to explore? (you don't have to divulge all your secret places!)

Everywhere! I have been all over Michigan, New England, Maryland and Colorado. Some NC travel & exploration, though it was a few years ago. I love trails, forests, parks, waterways, mountains, beaches, gardens, etc. I am really looking forward to more exploring of North Carolina.

What is your hiking level? What are your expectations from joining THOG? What do you hope to gain from THOG membership?

I have been hiking/trail running forever. I have been on hikes in all seasons, conditions and terrains. I have hiked trails, rocks, traverse's, etc. I move pretty quick. 2 years ago we hiked the Presidential Traverse in NH - very rocky and unstable, but awesome! I consider myself a pretty decent hiker and wouldn't be afraid of an advanced day hike challenge.

Introduction

My name is Jill. I am an exercise physiologist living in Durham and working at Duke. I have been active my whole life and prefer to be outside whenever possible. I am looking to get to know this beautiful state a little bit more- one hike at a time!

What Jill N. is saying about this Meetup Group

So far, I love it. Maybe a few too many e-mails, but I'll manage.
