I live in Moncure for now, but may be moving closer to Raleigh in the near future.
I am interested in all of the listed activities. I love the outdoors. I'd love to do more geocaching than I have in the past, but I'm always up for a good hike or backpacking venture. I've got my mountain bike here and I love to ski and take pictures outdoors. This group sounds like it does all the things I love.
I love to explore places that I've never been, so it's tough for me to have favorites. My best memories of the outdoors are of backpacking in New Mexico, spelunking in Rock Castle County, Kentucky, and Canoeing in Canada. There's always new places to explore, but I'm new to Raleigh, so you show me your favorite places.
The past couple of years, I haven't hiked nearly as much as I did when I was in High School. Since moving here, I've done a few solo hikes. My hiking level is above average, but I'm certainly no expert. I'm fit enough to keep a good pace in most terrain. I'd like to become an even better hiker. I expect that THOG would allow me to make some friends to hike with and also tune me in to the places to go in the area. It's nice to go hiking alone, but sometimes it would be great to have some friends to go with too. I haven't really had much of a chance to meet people since I've moved here.
I'm a recent Ohio State University graduate. I just moved to the Raleigh area for work and now I'm looking for ways to spend my evenings and weekends. I love the outdoors, hiking, biking, and having a great time.
