If you have a Facebook account, be sure to "like" our Facebook page! First, please tell us where you live? (do not post specific addresses! Give us a general idea, as it helps for potential carpool purposes!

I live in Chapel Hill, 3 miles from UNC Chapel Hill.

What type of THOG events are you interested in participating in? (ie hiking, backpacking, camping, cycling, paddling, skiing, snowshoeing, nature photography, geocaching, etc)?

Hiking, Camping, Backpacking, Bicycling, and camping I have done and enjoyed all of them. I haven't done any proper Kayaking/.Canoeing, whitewater or snow skiing (I can't ski), but would enjoy learning, and gain better knowledge in those I have. I am also rock climbing certified.

Here's your chance to show off! Where are your favorite places to explore? (you don't have to divulge all your secret places!)

Lately I've hit up the parks around the triangle, My favorite being the Eno River trails off Cole Mill Role. I've done some in Umstead park, and around Occoneechee mountain and the UNC Botanical Gardens. I jog almost every morning and bike a little in the Carolina North Forest. And I've done little bit of day hiking at Pilot Mountain.

What is your hiking level? What are your expectations from joining THOG? What do you hope to gain from THOG membership?

Hiking level is probably around beginner to intermediate level. I've done infrequent day hikes over the last 2 years, and only a couple of two to three day ones. (I'm a baby:-))

By joining THOG, you agree that you have read, understood and abide by our Member Code of Conduct and Trip Participation Waiver. You agree that participating in our activities is voluntary and you are solely responsible for yourself and your guests

I am a newbie to serious hiking and want to get involved. I usually do some day hikes around the triangle area, but would love to do more.
