The Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship is a vast privately-owned conservation area in Virginia's beautiful Loudoun Valley a few miles south of Harpers Ferry, WV. It includes an extensive network of hiking trails across rolling terrain through a variety of open fields, forests and wetlands. It looks like an area well worth exploring, especially in the springtime. (Visit: www.blueridgecenter.org for more info.) Total length of our easy hike should not exceed 6 miles, with a few hundred feet of elevation gain scattered along the way. Mud may be encountered, so be prepared. Bring beverages, lunch, and about $12 for transportation and trip fees. Meet at the relaxed hour of 10 a.m. at the East Falls Church Metro Kiss & Ride lot.
