Dog Mountain Hike

This is a classic conditioning hike. Every step toward the summit is uphill and sections of the hike are steep and intense. There are three routes to the summit, which vary in steepness. We will ascend one of the steeper routes and descend one that is less so after having a break on the summit. Dog Mountain is famous for its wildflowers near the summit. Please bring a day pack with extra warm clothes, rain gear, water, lunch, and snacks.

Hike: 6.8 miles, 2820 feet total elevation. Drive: 100 mi. Northwest Forest Parking Pass is required; bring if you have one or $5 cash to purchase at the trailhead.

The leader will be driving and has room for three.  Please email the leader to sign-up and If you also have multi-passenger vehicle and are willing to drive, include that in your email. If you are coming as a passenger, please bring a change of shoes for after the hike and ride back home.

Also plan on bringing about $10 cash for your driver for gas money and the $1 toll for the bridge. Trip fee: $2/$3  members/non-members.

Meet at Gateway Transit Center (SE corner, ground floor) at 9AM. Return time: 4:30PM
