Oxygen for Caregivers
Antidotes to Burnout. Sustenance for Compassion.
June 12: 7:30pm-9:00pm
June 15: 3:00pm-5:00pm
June 19: 7:30pm-9:00pm
Regardless of good intentions, all committed caregivers and spiritual workers face the challenge of compassion fatigue – an aspect of burnout that hits the most dedicated and caring the hardest. Yet few have any training in how to cope with this occupational hazard of being on the path of service.
If you are putting compassion into action in the service of helping, healing, teaching, or uplifting others, you are probably being asked to do more and more with less and less. Oxygen for Caregivers is a real world, whole person approach to self care that is full of resources and strategies to guard against burnout, build resilience, and sustain the capacity to care.
“Such a healing balm you have offered we happy few who are so blessed to serve, and so often wounded on the field. I shall tuck it in my heart and in my go bag.”
Chaplain Fr. Jon Hedges
Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Chaplain
