A strong, flexible core underpins almost everything you do and making it stronger will not only improve your fitness levels but also can dramatically improve your quality of life and get rid of several health conditions, such as lower back pain. Yoga works and strengthens our core in every posture, however, for those who put especially large demands on their core, such as spending large parts of their day sitting, - special added effort is needed to keep the area in healthy condition by continually reinforcing and developing its strength. I know the importance of this first hand (having worked in an office for 7 years during my corporate career.), so I am very pleased to introduce this new type of class. I hope you enjoy it!!
What to expect from the class:
The class will be an energetic mix of highly effective exercises from Yoga, Pilates and Fitness designed and put together with one goal in mind - to strengthen your abdominal and core areas. It is specifically designed to be challenging to make it effective and enable you to progress but can be easily adapted for all levels with plenty of modifications given to make sure everyone is comfortable.
The classes will take place at 35 Rue St. Roch on Wednesdays at 18.00 (Just before the new intermediate class) and on Friday lunchtimes at 12.00 (before the yoga class). These classes can be taken separately or in combination with the yoga classes.

What to bring with you:
I ask you to each bring your own mat. As I don’t have a car so it will be difficult for me to carry enough mats for everyone for each class. But to make it easier for people who do not currently own a yoga mat - I will have some mats available for sale at each class. It will be yours to keep and I would ask you to bring it with you to each class. The mats I can source for you are €20 each and are made from special non-toxic environmentally friendly materials.
You may wish to bring a bottle of water with you (but not necessary).
What to wear:
You are welcome to wear anything you feel comfortable in, but generally it is advised to wear clothes that do not restrict your movement in any way. This class is practiced without shoes - either in socks or barefoot.
There are no dedicated changing facilities in the building, but there are bathrooms on several floors where you van get changed. Equally you can get changed in the room, however there are no separate male / female facilities.
Can be adapted to all levels from beginner to intermediate, so all levels are welcome at all classes. To accommodate the needs of all students, I will give adaptations for certain postures and exercises to make them more or less advanced as necessary for different people. I will demonstrate all the moves in detail and the class is performed at a pace that will allow everyone to follow comfortably.
If English is not your first language, I also speak French and Russian so additional explanations will be possible in those languages as well.
Although yoga and fitness have many very beneficial health effects, to make sure no harm is made during beginning of your practice, I will ask everyone to fill out a short health questionnaire when you come to your first class. I will use this information confidentially to adapt the exercises specifically to cater for your needs (if you have any).

As the price of the class is already low, I am not able to offer concessions for block payments, however if you find it easier to pay for 10 or 20 classes in one go, I will be happy to accept that and issue you a class pass.
