Introduction

Hi, My name is Richard (Dick) Africano.

Our beginner/interm. hikes are every Sat. morning at 7:30am. Are you an early riser?

Being an early riser is a blessing . And Yes, I am up before the light. In winter at least.

What level are you? Beginner, Interm. or Advanced?

I have hiked in the past. I have done the Peters Canyon hike. 6 hilly miles in 2 hours - I can handle most intermediate hikes I have read about.

iF you would like.. tell us something you would like to share about yourself...

I had a career in technical management at Pac Bell. Billing manager, programmer, project manager, district manager - last title:Director of Computer and Network Technology - Souther California. Published all the bills in SoCal for 10 years and had among about 50 different systems, the 911 system that matches calls to addresses for 2 years - zero downtime. 70 years old a couple of weeks ago. Married for 48 years as of this week. Four college grad kids and 7 grandkids. After an early retirement from Pac Bell, I did consulting in Europe. My wife and I have had the good fortune to have visited 39 different countries many of which where everyone hikes from place to place as a regular mode of transit.

Dick! you made it!! yeah!! :) i love your swinging photo! but do you have one of you that we can recognize u in?? i love all your feedback on your intro! so much about you to talk about! very cool! love that your not afraid to say your age!! congrats and happy little late b-day! :)! after all the work you've had to go through to get to this point i hate to ask you to get another photo-- but could you work on that? i'd appreciate it! for now- your in-- look forward to hiking with you Richard!
